Denver’s public transport is operated by the Regional Transportation District (RTD), covering the Denver-Aurora-Boulder metro area with over 100 bus routes and 10 rail lines.

Rail System

RTD operates 10 rail lines (A, B, E, G, N, R, W, plus suspended D, H, L during reconstruction) providing 113 miles of service. Key lines:

• A Line: Union Station to Denver International Airport (37 min, every 15–30 min)
• E Line: Union Station to RidgeGate Parkway
• G Line: Union Station to Wheat Ridge/Ward
• N Line: Union Station to Eastlake & 124th
• W Line: Union Station to Golden

Hours: approximately 3 am to midnight, varying by line.

Fares (2026)

• 3-Hour Pass: $2.75 (full), $1.35 (discount/senior)
• Day Pass: $5.50 (full), $2.70 (discount)
• Airport Day Pass: $10.00 (includes A Line to DEN)
• Monthly Pass: $88.00 (full), $27.00 (discount)
• Youth (19 & under): Free
• Active-duty military: Free

How to Pay

RTD uses Tap-n-Ride — tap a contactless credit/debit card or mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay) directly on the validator. Fare capping ensures you never pay more than a Day Pass or Monthly Pass per day/month. The MyRide mobile app is also available for purchasing tickets.

Paper tickets and 10-Ride Ticket Books can be bought at RTD Sales Outlets, select King Soopers and Safeway stores, or via the RTD Online Store.

Buses

Over 100 bus routes including local, regional, and SkyRide services. The Free MallRide runs along the 16th Street Mall. FlexRide provides on-demand service in certain areas.

Taxis and Ride-sharing

Uber and Lyft are widely available throughout Denver. Traditional taxis can be hailed or called. From the airport, taxi to downtown is approximately $55–65.

Parking at Stations

96 Park-n-Ride lots are available at many rail stations for commuters.
